Metal Garden Edging System: A Stylish and Functional Landscape Solution
To install your new garden edging, mark out your desired design and dig a trench to the required depth. This will vary depending on the type of edging you choose, but a good guideline is to dig just deeper than the top of the edging. Then place your edging into the trench, starting at one of the corners. Work down the edging, stopping every now and then to add garden stakes to the top of the edging to hold it in place (these come with most metal edging). Use a rubber mallet to install these, not a regular hammer which can dent your edging.
Once the stakes are in place, hammer in the ground pegs that are included with your edging. Again, the number of pegs you need will vary depending on your edging and the stability you require. Typically, a peg is used every 1m up to 3m but this does depend on whether the edging is straight or curved and how tight the radius is. Then backfill the area and enjoy!
